Conserve McHenry County's Clean Water, Air, and Wildlife

Tuesday, November 5
Early Voting Begins September 26

How To VoteProposition Ballot Language

In today’s digital age it’s more important than ever to provide parks, natural areas and outdoor recreational programs and places where children can play and be physically active.

With land prices rising and the amount of natural lands dwindling, we must act now to preserve our last remaining open spaces for our children and our grandchildren before they are lost to development. Purchasing and preserving natural areas and improving water quality also plays a very important role in preserving the quality of life in McHenry County.

VOTE YES TO CONSERVE MCHENRY COUNTY

McHenry County residents can vote “YES” on a proposition that will protect drinking water and the water quality of our rivers, lakes and streams, restore wildlife habitat, and improve park access for all people, especially those with disabilities.

The average homeowner in McHenry County would only pay an additional $2.25 per month to fund this proposition. It is a small price to pay to protect our clean water and to preserve, maintain and improve natural lands and conservation areas in McHenry County.

STRICT ACCOUNTABILITY PROVISIONS

There will be an annual public audit of how the funds are spent. This proposal requires that funds can only be used for the purposes stated in the proposal and cannot be used for other purposes.
